The Most Common Warning Signs Your Land Rover Engine Needs Repair

How to Tell When It’s Time to Visit a Technician!

The most important part of a vehicle is undoubtedly the engine, and when a Land Rover needs engine repair it is an even higher priority because the engine is what keeps all the other safety and convenience features running. Whether you are in the country or in the city, an engine malfunction can really ruin the experience. Acting fast on any signs of a problem can prevent them from becoming more serious or causing other problems. Here are a few of the most common warning signs for engine repair.

Faulty Ignition

The ignition is very crucial to many of the other parts of the engine. If your car is having slow start ups or stalls, it could be the coils of the ignition. You will want your Land Rover’s engine to be repaired immediately, as allowing your engine to struggle to start over time can cause much more serious damage to other parts of the engine. There are other potential issues with an ignition not starting such as spark plugs being dirty or having other complications that prevents them from getting a clean connection, the weather may be too cold to create a spark so you will need to warm it up, or simply the ignition coils need to be replaced.

Engine System Fault

Some Land Rover owners may experience a notification that says “Engine System Fault” when they reach around 60 MPH or 100 KMPH. At this point the driver will experience trouble accelerating any further. While this isn’t necessarily indicative that the Land Rover requires engine repair, it does mean a few things. First of all, there may be a speed limit control setting designed to automatically keep drivers within safe speed levels. The software might also be outdated. In these cases you can just disable the limiter or update the software. Replacing the anti-particulate filter helps to purify the fuel in the engine and will give better performance at those higher speed ranges.

Oil Leaks

The engine of a Land Rover may also be shaken up quite a bit during an off-road adventure. If a wrong bump causes a leak in the engine this could cost you a lot of fuel efficiency. To get your Land Rover engine repaired it may need to be removed from the case entirely, which is not recommended the average person try to perform. Taking it to a mechanic will help fix any leaks.
